BUILDING THE CURE: The MARC

Spay & Neuter Clinic

Help us raise $279,510.00 to break the cycle of animal homelessness in our mountains forever.

This clinic is the largest, most transformative milestone in the history of MARC. By bringing a permanent spay and neuter facility directly into our community, we will instantly increase the number of animals we can save while dramatically lowering our overall medical costs.

MARC has made an unwavering commitment to end animal overpopulation and suffering in our region, but we cannot build without you. Whether you give $10 or $1,000, your support is a foundational stone in this new sanctuary of hope.

Let’s build the cure together.

The Crisis on Our Streets

Every year, hundreds of unwanted puppies and kittens are dumped in our state parks, left on rural dirt roads, or brought to crowded foster homes across Marion and Grundy counties.

For over a decade, Marion Animal Resource Connection (MARC) has operated without a physical shelter, relying entirely on a network of selfless volunteers to rescue these animals after the tragedy occurs.

But reactive rescue cannot fix a systemic crisis. To stop the suffering, we have to stop the cycle at its source.

The Answer is Prevention.

Spaying and neutering is the single most effective tool we have to prevent animal homelessness.

  • 1 unspayed female dog and her mate can lead to 512 puppies in just three years.
  • 1 unspayed female cat and her mate can lead to 11,801 kittens in that same time.

By building a dedicated, permanent low-cost clinic right here in our community, MARC will eliminate the barriers of cost and travel that prevent local families from altering their pets.

Where Your Money Goes

Every dollar given to the Clinic Fund is restricted to the birth, setup, and operation of this permanent medical resource hub, and funding the first surgeries in the clinic.

Phase 1 Structural & MEP Remodel:

Reframing interior walls, updating drywall, and modifying Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to support veterinary clinical needs, grading and adjustments for parking, etc.

Phase 3 (Equipment Procurement & Interior Finishing):

Outfitting medical suites, installing commercial-grade flooring, delivering kennel infrastructure, and executing final sterilization validations.

Phase 4 (Grand Opening):

Target operational rollout and ribbon-cutting within 6 to 12 months of starting construction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Are donations tax-deductible?

Answer

Yes! MARC is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law, and you will automatically receive an emailed receipt for your records.

Question:

What happens if you don’t reach the full $279,510.00 immediately?

Every single dollar raised goes directly into a dedicated, restricted Clinic Sub-Account. If funding takes longer than expected, we will build in modular phases, starting with the different stages we have outlined.
